Don&#39;t miss the chance to meet Andreas Lagos<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Who is Andreas Lagos<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I was born in Samos island and raised in the fields and gardens<br \/>\nof my home village. I cannot describe the influence of these<br \/>\nchildhood experiences in my adult life.<\/p>\n<p>I realize it everyday and every time I use and appreciate the<br \/>\namazing Greek materials, vegetables, fruits, herbs. I always wanted<br \/>\nto be near the casserole during boiling, near the heated oven, to<br \/>\nwatch the pasta, to observe how the cake is baked and gets its golden<br \/>\ncolor in the warmth of the oven.<\/p>\n<p>I cook as long as remember myself! My first dessert was<br \/>\nPapadopoulos biscuits with egg cream whereas my first salty dish was<br \/>\nan omelet where I put the potatoes raw! A few years later, I used to<br \/>\nsign my mother\u2019s cookbooks as \u201cAndreas Lagos, chef de Paris\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I studied in Athens, cooking and pastry at Le Monde college.<br \/>\nEven from the first year I did my practice at the 5 star hotel<br \/>\nDoryssa, in Samos. I learned that whoever works makes mistakes,<br \/>\nsomething that I even now remember when I work in a kitchen and<br \/>\ntransfer my knowledge to my brigade.<\/p>\n<p>At 19 years old, I won the golden metal in the pan European<br \/>\ncontest for Mediterranean cooking in Crete. My cooperation with the<br \/>\nteam of Aristera-Dexia restaurant defined my career and gave me the<br \/>\nopportunity to work in important restaurants like Tomato in Santorini<br \/>\nand Asterias in Sani resort in Halkidiki, where I was the head chef.<br \/>\nI want to view and study the cooking art in multi levels \u2013 even if at<br \/>\nthe bloody benches of the state school of meat or at the Ritz\u2019s<br \/>\nkitchen-surgery room in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>I have also studied wine-making following a 2 year course. My<br \/>\nneed to get out of the micro-world of my kitchen and to share my love<br \/>\nand knowledge for food, lead me to the 360 concept Andreas Lagos,<br \/>\nnomad chef. Under the nomad signature, I cook for private high-tea<br \/>\nparties, brunches, din\u00adners and transmit to the devotees of creative<br \/>\ncuisine my experience and knowledge through private cooking lessons.<br \/>\nI work as a consultant for restaurants, hotels, delicatessen. When I<br \/>\ndon\u2019t cook I write recipes for magazines and gastronomy sites.<\/p>\n<p>I participate I various social corporate responsibility<br \/>\nprograms as prevention and education programs for infantile obesity<br \/>\nand feeding programs for social groups in need.<\/p>\n<p>I am in the process of writing my first book and I am<br \/>\ncontinuously travelling to Greece, Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy,<br \/>\nSpain exploring Mediterranean cuisine which is a great chapter in<br \/>\nhistory of cooking.<\/p>\n<p>When I do not anything of the above, I love to spend time in my<br \/>\ngarden, on my veranda, playing with my cat Soussi, watching cinema,<br \/>\nlistening to music. Whenever possible, I travel to my island to visit<br \/>\nlittle Apostolis, my sister\u2019s son.
